The Currier Gallery of Art was established in the year 1929, October. The museum was built on Moody Currier's house who was an art enthusiast. The museum was built in line with his legacy, by his trustees. The Currier Gallery of Art is known nationally and internationally. This museum houses an array of art pieces like American and European paintings, sculpture, photographs, decorative art, furniture, silver and glass artifacts and textiles. There is a permanent collection of works by famous artists like Picasso, Matisse, Monet, O'Keeffe, Calder and Wyeth. It is the proud possessor of Frank Lloyd Wright's Zimmerman House which requires advance reservation for the visits.

The Currier Gallery of Art New Hampshire is not only a museum, but a place where activities are held for all age groups. The activities held all round the year are:

The American Collection of arts and crafts include works of famous artists like Thomas Cole, Albert Bierstadt, Arthur Dove, Marsden Hartley. The New Hampshire Collection has the Zimmerman House and other contemporary works. The European Collection has works of the old and new artists like Jan Gossaert, Jan de Bray, Claude Monet, Pablo Picasso and Henri Matisse.

The Currier Gallery of Art has a coffee shop and a museum store. The museum shop has articles of exhibition, artifacts, and other collection. The Currier Gallery of Art organizes events like art festivals, seminars, publications and special school and group programs which are interactive by nature. The guided and group tours are registered before hand. These groups can participate in various classes held in its premises. There are memberships offered which gives the benefit of free tours to various sections of the museum. There are various kinds of membership packages ranging from $30 and above.
