Ruggles Mine

Overview of the Ruggles Mine: New Hampshire is known for its rich deposits of mineral wealth that are strewn across the mountainous and plateau regions of the state stretching from the southwest corner of the state near Keene to the northern Canadian border near Littleton. Out of these the Littleton Formation is thought to have been formed during the Devonian almost 300 million years ago. The Ruggles Mine occupying Grafton is a part of the Littleton Formation boasting of a rich mining and geological history. With mineral deposits that include Mica, Feldspar, Beryl, and Uranium etc it is the oldest and largest mine of its kind in the United States continuing its impact on New Hampshire's history and economy since 175 years.






Recreational Activities at the Ruggles Mine: The giant rooms and tunnels strewn across this place is ideal for a leisure stroll and a good way to explore the beauty of the place. Encircled by lush valleys,verdant mountains and impenetrable forests, Ruggles Mine is a fantastic place for outdoor sports. A drive to the summit of the Isinglass Mountain lends one of the most captivating views in the place.
